Paper is over

All my life I used paper for piano sheet music. It is ok if I just live at home.
I taped together up to 6 A4 papers to avoid page turning.
But when I travel, it is impossible to carry a lot of paper with me.
I want to use my Samsung S9FE tablet instead of paper.

Pdf is the new paper

On the internet I can download music sheets directly as pdf.
I can then use the Samsung tablet S9FE to read the music sheets. It is portable and easy. A little too small, but it is possible to read with my glasses.
I just need to create my pdf library.
I am testing the pdf reader "MobileSheetsFree". It is limited to 8 pdf files. The full version "MobileSheets" by Zubersoft is 20€.
Other pdf readers are also good enough:

I will not need the page-turning pedals for my level of amateur playing.

Merge pdf

I would like to make some books with a collection of different music sheets.
It means I need to merge pdf-s.

Scan the paper sheets

The best way to scan an existing paper music sheet is https://www.soundslice.com/sheet-music-scanner/. It is online and it is 5€ per month for 100 pages. That is ok for me.
Let's try it. Something new and exciting.
It is a web app. The password is stored in my Proton password manager.
Artificial intelligence is pretty good to OCR the jpg, but there is still a lot of manual work to make it right. Music notation is a complicated mess.

Edit music sheet notation

After scanning there is always something to edit in the music sheet. The web app soundslice is pretty good for it.

I will also try 'musescore' on my Win11. It is not so good for scanning and OCR, but should be good for editing. There are 2 different 'musescore': one is the notation editor (free) and second is the music sheet library (paid).

MusicXML

MusicXML is the standard format for interoperability between notation editors.

The perfect web site for easy piano songs

Easy piano solo music sheets. I can play all of this popular classic songs. It is a small but curated selection of songs. I like most of them.

Complex web site

This website is difficult to find anything.

MuseScore

musescore.com MuseScore PRO is not free, but it contains many music sheets.
MuseScore PRO €5.99 billed weekly MuseScore PRO+ €7.99 billed weekly

TODO

Always something to do.
